Dr. Kelly Cobey, a researcher at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, is doing an open online survey and series of focus groups to address barriers to patient engagement in research and to find ways to empower patient voices to support precision medicine. Patient Engagement is a strategy in which patients act as partners in the research process. Doing research on patients without their input may result in incorrect assumptions about how they feel, their priorities, and how to treat them best.
Dr. Kelly Cobey and her team are seeking patient partners and cardiovascular researchers to participate in a survey which is available in English and French. To qualify, participants must have been involved in cardiovascular research (in any aspect and/or role of the research process) in the past 2 years. Participants will be entered into a raffle containing five gift cards worth up to $100 each. You can also indicate if you would like to participate in a follow-up 2 hour focus group on the same topic of the survey and will be compensated $75 for your time.
Learn more by reading the flyers available below – don’t delay, the survey is open only until October 31st!
