The Canadian Arthritis Patient Alliance (CAPA) along with an occupational therapy student, Bella Cairns, from McMaster University are embarking on a project this summer. Our hope is to better understand the lived experience of those living with arthritis across the lifespan and identify life hacks or tips to that work for you. We want to hear what living well with arthritis means to you, challenges you face with activities of daily living, and the strategies you use to improve participation in activities of daily living.

What is the purpose of this project?

Our hope is that the takeaways from this project can be used to create resources for patients, informed by the experience of patients. A comprehensive approach will be taken to consider the environmental, task specific, and person related factors impacting your ability to participate in everyday activities (that you want to, need to, and enjoy doing)! We hope to highlight your strengths, strategies, and tools that enable you to live well with arthritis.

What do we need from you?

We are looking to connect with individuals to understand the unique experiences of those across the lifespan, with different roles, everyday activities, and different kinds of arthritis. If you are interested in sharing your experience, we will be scheduling phone and Zoom calls between July 11 and August 4, 2023. The student occupational therapist can work with your schedule to book a call that will require 30 minutes to 1 hour of your time.

Please contact capa.arthritis@gmail.com for further information and to schedule a call.
