Advocating for access to protein-based COVID-19 vaccines
Many people living with inflammatory and other forms of autoimmune arthritis have reported to have serious side effects (e.g. long-term disease flares) to mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. Unfortunately, the federal government has not ordered any protein-based (non-mRNA) vaccines which will have a negative impact on patient access and health. CAPA President, Linda Wilhelm, has been advocating for access to these vaccines and has been featured on CBC news and the Investigative Journalism Foundation website.
What assistive devices do people with arthritis use?
Early in 2024, we worked with two occupational therapy students from McMaster University to launch a survey to understand how people with arthritis use assistive devices in daily life, like in the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. We are pleased to share a series of infographics that share key highlights of this survey. What assistive devices do you use to live independently with arthritis? Share the tools and life hacks that work for you with us directly by e-mail, or by posting to social media with our #Arthritis365 hashtag!
