In this free webinar, you will hear from people living with or affected by arthritis about their experiences with pregnancy, a rheumatologist specializing in pregnancy in rheumatic diseases, and researchers. Continuing the Life Hacks and Gadgets Project – We are pleased to welcome two new occupational therapy students from McMaster University who will be working with CAPA for the next few months. Megan Neufeld and Becky Tresham will continue working on our Life Hacks and Gadgets Project, which continues our work from last year to better understand the research evidence around assistive devices and aids to help people with arthritis live life well and independently.

Survey about rehab care after total joint replacement​ – A University of British Columbia (UBC) research team is studying patient experiences and quality of care during their rehabilitation after total joint replacement. Online Consumer Panel recruitment – Arthritis Society Canada is seeking participants for an Online Consumer Panel. Consumer panelists provide insight and feedback based on experience living with arthritis. Arthritis Society Canada uses this feedback to help inform educational resources and other activities and programs. Apply here!

Medical Cannabis Webinar – On April 13th we held a webinar to learn more about medical cannabis and using it to manage arthritis symptoms! We heard from a panel of experts including family physician, Dr. Mark A. Ware, pharmacists, Anusha Vijayaraghevan and Ajay Chahal, and CAPA President Linda Wilhelm, who has lived with rheumatoid arthritis for over 30 years. If you missed it, you can watch it here!

Lupus focused virtual talks – Starting May 13th, Dragon Claw is offering a series of one-hour presentations over 12 months. These aim to raise awareness and understanding about lupus, its different manifestations and impacts, potential treatment and self-care options to help lupus patients navigate the challenges of their disease. Zoom sessions for youth with rheumatic diseases – Take a Pain Check’s Joint Chat Rheum program is an initiative aimed at fostering connections and building a strong community among youth and young adults aged 16 to 25 diagnosed with rheumatic diseases. Their monthly hour-long Zoom sessions, led by ambassadors and executives who themselves live with rheumatic conditions, are designed to facilitate engaging activities.
