Guilty of summer stiffness…

The sun’s been out, the days have been long… and yes, we’ve been feeling a little “summer stiffness” (and not just in our joints). We’ve been pacing ourselves — because that’s how we roll — but we’ll be back in earnest this September for Arthritis Awareness Month. Until then, here’s a little something to keep you in the loop.

News Roundup

Perking Up for Coffee for CAPA:
This fall, we’ll be firing up the espresso machine for our annual Coffee for CAPA fundraiser — and we’re ready to cappa-inate and re-energize our work for arthritis awareness and advocacy. Every cup you “buy” for CAPA helps fuel patient voices across Canada. So, start saving up your coffee purchases now… because this is one brew worth waiting for.
Upcoming webinar: Building Patient Partner Skills in Pre-Clinical and Clinical Research:
Join us on September 16, 2025 at 12:00 pm ET to explore how patients can engage in both pre-clinical research and clinical practice guidelines. The session will feature patient partner Marie-Maxime Bergeron and Drs. Manoj Lalu and Glen Hazlewood. Hold your spot and sign-up today
Affected by a Drug Shortage?
Still listening: We’re continuing to connect with people who’ve been affected by drug shortages — your experiences help us push for real solutions.
Making it count:
We’ve been sharing patient perspectives on key policies like signing on to a letter to the federal health minister about arthritis priorities and policy submissions to Canada’s Drug Agency for tofacitinib for juvenile idiopathic arthritis and feedback on bulk drug purchasing. We do this because decisions should be shaped by lived experience.
New resource:
Our DMARD Dialogues event report is now available on our website — explore the key takeaways, insights, and next steps from this important conversation.
Workshop series:
Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in our Patient Priority Setting Workshop on living life independently with arthritis. The workshop series will be held this fall, and we’re excited to get started.
