Now that we know a bit about how drugs are discovered in Canada, do you want to learn about how Health Canada approves and regulates these drugs? Learn about the basic steps in the regulatory approval process in this 1 hour webinar with Heather Cherry from the Regulatory Project Management Division (RPMD) of the Pharmaceutical Drugs Directorate of Health Canada.

Heather Cherry has a Bachelor of Science in Biopharmaceutical Sciences (Medicinal Chemistry) from the University of Ottawa, and has worked with Health Canada for over 15 years, including as a Regulatory Project Manager and a Senior Regulatory Project Manager. Her experience in RPMD comes from project managing both innovative drugs, as well as many years of working with generic drugs. She currently lives in Ottawa with her family and loves biking and gardening.

This is the second of a three part series that explains the process in Canada from drug discovery to getting the drugs covered by various public and private insurance plans. This is a learning opportunity to help patients, or people living with various health conditions, participate in government decision-making processes relating to drug approval and reimbursement policies.
