On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, CAPA hosted the “Getting on a Biologic Medication“ webinar. This session explored the journey and steps involved in starting a biologic medication for arthritis—from the initial conversation with a rheumatologist about treatment options to enrolling in a Patient Support Program (PSP). This session featured practical insights from a person living with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, clinical perspectives from a rheumatologist, and expertise from a nurse-researcher who has studied Patient Support Programs.

Together, they discussed what patients can expect when beginning a biologic therapy, including how PSPs help guide patients through access, education and ongoing support along the way. The webinar featured a range of expert insights and perspectives, including:

  • Megan Friedman (Educator & Disability Advocate)
  • Dr. Quinn Grundy (Registered Nurse)
  • Dr. Alexandra Legge (Rheumatologist)
