We invite you to an free webinar “Getting on a Biologic Medication on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 6:00 PM EDT to explore the journey and steps involved in starting a biologic medication for arthritis—from the initial conversation with a rheumatologist about treatment options to enrolling in a Patient Support Program (PSP). This session will feature practical insights from a person living with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, clinical perspectives from a rheumatologist, and expertise from a nurse-researcher who has studied Patient Support Programs.

Together, they will discuss what patients can expect when beginning a biologic therapy, including how PSPs help guide patients through access, education and ongoing support along the way. The webinar will feature a range of expert insights and perspectives, including:

PANELIST BIOGRAPHIES

 Megan Friedman

Megan is an educator and disability advocate who brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. As a Core French and elementary teacher, she is committed to inclusive education, equity, and student voice, creating classrooms where all learners feel seen, supported, and empowered. Living with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease (incomplete lupus), rheumatoid arthritis, endometriosis, and eosinophilic asthma, she advocates with Lupus Ontario to raise awareness of invisible disabilities, challenge stigma, and promote greater accessibility in education and the workplace, grounded in compassion, practicality, and humor.

Dr. Quinn Grundy

Dr. Quinn Grundy is a registered nurse and an Associate Professor with the Lawrence Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing at the University of Toronto. She leads a program of research on the interactions between the medically-related industry and public health systems and is currently leading SSHRC and CIHR funded studies into the landscape of patient support programs and private infusion care in Canada.

Dr. Alexandra Legge

Dr. Alexandra Legge (she/her) is an adult rheumatologist and Assistant Professor in the Division of Rheumatology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she currently holds the Quigley Family Endowed Chair in Rheumatology Research.

In addition to her general rheumatology practice, she is also currently the Director of the Dalhousie Lupus Clinic.
