The arthritis community have come together to submit a joint letter to Premier Legault and Minister Dubé on urgent Concerns over threats to accessible healthcare in Quebec.
The letter urges the Government of Quebec to pause Bill 2, warning that it threatens the quality and continuity of arthritis care for 1.2 million Quebecers. It highlights three key risks: rushed, lower-quality care; loss of specialists; and reduced training capacity for future clinicians. It stresses that this is a pivotal moment – continuing with flawed legislation could worsen care for thousands. Instead, the authors call for renewed collaboration with physicians, patients, and advocates to develop sustainable, patient-centered reforms. They affirm their readiness to work with the government on solutions that protect vulnerable patients.
