We know arthritis affects people at any age and can have an impact on reproductive health and being a parent. To better support people with arthritis, we held two webinars about pregnancy and parenting with arthritis. This educational series was part of a collaboration with researcher Dr. Mary da Vera and her team University of British Columbia. Part 1 – Pregnancy with Arthritis, May 4, 2024

This webinar about pregnancy and arthritis featured a range of topics, such as planning for pregnancy, navigating decisions about medications during pregnancy, diversity and inclusion in pregnancy care and new models of healthcare that support people living with arthritis around pregnancy. The webinar featured a number of speakers including Cristina Montoya, Nazret Russon, Shani Ellis-Alman, Dr. Neda Amiri, Dr. Mary de Vera and Dr. Vienna Cheng. Part 2 – Parenting with Arthritis, June 8, 2024

This webinar about parenting with arthritis featured a range of topics, such as community support and learning from Indigenous communities and what research tells us about the experiences of parenting with arthritis and how to adapt life to parenting challenges. The webinar featured a number of speakers including Ashley Hayward and Dr. Catherine Backman. All of the presentations were recorded and are available on the CAPA YouTube channel.
