On June 18, we offered a final webinar in a three part series that explains the process in Canada from discovering a new drug to getting the drugs paid for or covered by various public and private insurance plans. The webinars presented by the expert speakers provided a learning opportunity to help patients (or people living with various health conditions) participate in government decision-making processes relating to drug approval and reimbursement policies, presenting:

        • the role of the Canada Drug Agency and health technology assessment
        • the steps and role of the Patented Medicines and Pricing Review Board and pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance
        • how patients can get their medications paid for or reimbursed; and
        • how patients can share their feedback and get involved in these different processes.
