In September 2022, we launched a survey to better understand the needs of youth and young adults with rheumatic disease. The “Make Rheum for Youth” project was a collaboration with Take a Pain Check Foundation, a youth led organization with a goal of empowering youth to advocate for themselves and to create a place where they feel understood. We hired a young person with rheumatic disease (Isabel Dukes) to analyze the Make Rheum for Youth survey and we are pleased to share the initial findings.

Youth and young adults with rheumatic disease told us that mental health was their most important concern followed by concerns about school and health, work and health, medication access and cost. Read our infographics to learn more about the survey findings.
